Oristano

The province of Oristano is situated in the region of Sardinia, Italy. It is formed out of 88 total comuni and its capital is the city of Oristano. The territory is characterized by plains, mountains and, of course, many miles of coastline. Many protected areas are situated here, the Monte Arci Regional Park, the Sinis Peninsula – Mal di Ventre Island Marine Protected Area, and the S’Archittu - a 49-ft-high natural carved arch - are the most important ones. One of Europe's best-preserved wetlands is here, the Stagno di Cabras, but Stagno di Mistras is famous as well, for the gulls and flamingos living in the area.
