L'Aquila

The Province of L'Aquila is the capital province of the Abruzzo region. It lies in the western part of the region and it occupies almost half of it. L'Aquila is famous for being the province with the highest mountains of the Apennines, their highest peak, Corno Grande being over 2,900 meters tall. In the province of L'Aquila there are 13 villages, considered to be the most beautiful in Italy. There are many historical sites to be visited here, such as ancient temples or medieval churches, but nature lovers can also fest their eyes on the beautiful sites of the lakes and rivers that pass through the province of L'Aquila.
