Imperia

The Province of Imperia is situated in the region of Liguria, between the Maritime Alps and the Ligurian Sea. Its capital city is Imperia, but the city of San Remo is more populated and probably more famous too. There are four mountain communities in this province, Comunità dell'Olivo, Alta Valle Arroscia, Argentina Armea and Montana Intemelia. Another interesting fact is that Imperia is also known as the Riviera dei Fiori (English: Riviera of flowers), for its many valleys and creeks. Many Italian monuments and places of interest lie here as well, but the most important tourist attraction is the Festival della Canzone Italiana, held in San Remo.
