Tuscany

The Tuscany region is situated in Central Italy and it is divided into 10 provinces: Arezzo, Florence, Grosseto, Livorno, Lucca, Massa-Carrara, Pisa, Pistoia, Prato and Siena. Tuscany stretches from the Apennine mountains, in the East, to the Tyrrhenian Sea, to the West. The region is characterized by Italian traditions, history and culture, but also by nature, breathtaking landscapes, medieval castles and more. There are many UNESCO World Heritage Sites to be seen here, the historic centre of Florence and Siena, the square of the Cathedral of Pisa, the Val d'Orcia and the Medici Villas and Gardens are only some of them.

  1. Arezzo

    The Province of Arezzo (or Arretium) is a province in the Tuscany region of Italy. Its capital city is Arezzo and the province is made out of 39 comuni. The province of Arezzo is divided into the areas of Casentino, Valdarno, Valtiberina and Val di Chiana, each offering magnificent landscapes for the many tourists visiting Arezzo each year. The area is very fascinating and filled with Italian main sights, such as the State Museum of Medieval and Modern Art, the Medici Fortress, the Cathedral, the Diocesan Museum and the Basilica of San Domenico.

  2. Florence

    The Province of Florence is situated in the Tuscany region, in Italy. It is formed out of 44 comuni and its capital is the beautiful city of Florence, which is also the capital city of the entire region. Main sights in the province include the cities of Barberino Val d'Elsa, Fiesole and, of course, Florence. The territory is characterized by beautiful relief and wonderful landscapes. attracting both Italian and foreign tourists. Sights such as the Chianti Valley, ancient castles, medieval churches are what make Florence a very charming place.

  3. Grosseto

    The Province of Grosseto is a province in the region of Tuscany. Made out of 28 total comuni, Grosseto is home for the Natural Park of Maremma and the prestigious classical music festival, CIMA. The territory is very beautiful and it includes famous tourist destinations, such as Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole, famous resorts such as Marina di Grosseto, Principina a Mare, Castiglione della Pescaia, Punta Ala and Punta Talamone, the Islands of Giglio, Giannutri and Formiche di Grosseto and much, much more.

  4. Livorno

    The Province of Livorno (or Leghorn) is a province in the Tuscany region of Italy. it includes the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago, Elba, Gorgonia, Pianosa, Montecristo and Capraia, and its capital is the city of Livorno. A total of only 20 comuni form this province, but the territory is stunningly beautiful. being characterized by plains and hills. The coastline is known as "the Etruscan coast”. because of the traces left by the ancient civilization. main sights include Castiglioncello, Rosignano Marittimo, Marina di Cecina, Marina di Bibbona and the beautiful Gulf of Baratti.

  5. Lucca

    The Province of Lucca is a province in the Tuscany region of Italy. There are 35 comuni forming the province and its capital is the city of Lucca. The territory is divided into a few areas, the Versilia coast, Garfagnana, the Valle del Serchio and the Lucca plain. There are a few protected areas here, very beautiful, the Parco delle Alpi Apuane is one of them. Tourists also come here for the many seaside resorts, Viareggio, Lido di Camaiore, Pietrasanta and Forte dei Marmi being the most popular ones.

  6. Massa-Carrara

    The Province of Massa and Carrara, formerly known as the Province of Massa-Carrara until 2009, is a province in the Tuscany region, named after the two main cities in the area. There are 17 comuni forming the province. The territory is well known for its magnificent coastline and for the many tourist resorts in the area. Two nature parks are found here as well, but the main sights of the province are the Cathedral that is Carrara's main attraction and the Malaspina fortress, Massa's most important sight.

  7. Pisa

    The Province of Pisa is a province in the Tuscany region of Italy, with the city of Pisa as its capital. There are 39 comuni forming the province and the main attraction of the region is, of course, the leaning tower of Pisa. The territory is characterized by many plains and hills, offering tourists a magnificent landscape to remember. Famous resorts are available for visitors here, Marina di Pisa and Tirrenia being the most notable ones. The Parco Naturale Migliarino San Rossore-Massacciucoli is worth mentioning, being the most important protected area of the province.

    The Province of Pistoia is a province in the Tuscany region, made out of 22 total comuni and haing the city of Pistoia as its capital. The territory offers a magnificent landscape for visitors to see, the area also being characterized by rich cultural and artistic heritage. The region offers many tourist attractions, art tours, mountain excursions, spas, conference tourism, green tourism and culinary holidays all year long. Among the main sights, there's the Porta Fiorentina, the Church of San Giuliano, the Seminary Cloister and many more.

    The Province of Prato is a province in the Tuscany region, with only 7 comuni forming it. Its capital is the city of Prato. The city of Prato is very well known for the textile production, but it is also a very beautiful area to visit. The territory is varied, offering tourists magnificent landscapes they will not soon forget. Among the most important sights, there's the historic center, the Emperor's Castle, the relic of the Holy Belt of the Madonna, but ancient sites as well, such as necropolises and Etruscan finds, very interesting for history lovers.

    The Province of Siena is a province situated in the region of Tuscany. It is formed out of 36 comuni and its capital city is Siena. There are many historical areas in which the province is divided: Alta Val d'Elsa, Chianti senese, The urban area of Monteriggioni and Siena, Val di Merse, Crete senesi Val d'Arbia, Val di Chiana senese and Val d'Orcia and Amiata. The territory is mostly hilly, characterized by beauty all around, preserving remains from the Middle Ages, making it an interesting area to visit by all history lovers and not only.
