The Province of Modena, with the city of Modena as its capital, is a province in Emilia-Romagna. Situated in the heart of the region, Modena is mainly characterized by a mountainous terrain, but the most beautiful plain areas in Italy are here as well. There is much to be seen in Modena, medieval architecture, such as fortresses, castles, towers make the province a wonderful place to visit. Some UNESCO World Heritage Sites are in Modena and tourists make sure not to miss the Cathedral in Modena, with its Ghirlandina Tower.
Some of Modena main sights include the historic cathedral, the Ghirlandina and Piazza Grande which are listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Modena city hall has a clock tower dating back to the 15th century.
